Every once in a blue moon I draw Abarat. This time I want to get my designs for the major characters sorted; I’ve put the characters’ names in the captions of each pictureI’d like to keep Candy and her friends in blue, red, and gold, to emphasize their connection and position in this storythough i love them and they’ve inspired a lot of my work, I view the books of abarat very critically. My view of Boa’s character goes against the canon of absolute midnight, and that influenced my design
